Indoor bundled soft optical cables employ single-core optical fibers (Φ900 µm tightly packed fibers reinforced with aramid elements) as subunits, with a non-metallic central reinforcement core. These fiber subunits are stranded around the central core to form the main cable core, which is then covered by an outer layer of low-smoke, halogen-free material (LSZH – low-smoke, halogen-free, flame-retardant). Cables with ≤48 fibers adopt a single-bundle configuration, while those with 72 fibers utilize a multi-subunit structure.
